How to Get Your Body Ready for the Beach

Whether you want to head down to the local beach or have an upcoming beach vacation there is no time like the present to get your body ready to enjoy the surf and sand. Getting ready may not be as hard as you think either. We have put together a list of ideas, that when put together… yield fast results! Following are five quick tips on how to get your body ready for the beach.

How to Get Your Body Ready for the Beach - Jogger

Start a Moderate Exercise Routine

This might seem like common sense, but it is also one of the most difficult things to incorporate into your day if you’re busy. Essentially, you want to carve out one hour a day for moderate physical activity. The best types of exercise routines to effectively enhance your metabolism include a routine that contains cardio as well as some sort of weight resistance training. You don’t need to get fancy with it, you just need a routine that is consistent and easy to follow. In a few days you will already start to feel a difference!

Get Rest

This might seem counter intuitive to getting you the beach body you deserve, but rest is essential. By rest, I am talking about sleep. Numerous scientific studies have concluded that proper sleep encourages healthy muscle and brain function. If you find yourself busy at work and are only getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night, you need to dial back your workload or get in to bed earlier. 7 or 8 hours of sleep per night is optimal to ensure your body is getting the right amount of it needs to keep up with your exercise routine.

You are what You Eat

You need to watch what you eat and how much you eat. Instead of buying a burger have a sandwich.  Instead of having chocolates for your sweet craving, try some grapes.  These little things really add up over time and before you know it you will be looking better than ever.  This can be a lot easier said than done. You might even try an appetite suppressant like PhenRx if you want a shortcut.

How to Get Your Body Ready for the Beach - Water

Drink Plenty of Water

Water is essential to almost every function of your body. Too little of it means that your kidneys, bladder, liver, and brain are all operating at a reduced rate. Drinking a lot of water might seem counterproductive, or you might think it would cause you to bloat. However, this is simply not true. Water helps flush all of the toxins out of your body. You need to make sure that you are drinking plenty of water each day. Typically, you want to consume one to two liters of water per day (the exact amount varies depending on various factors – click here for more information). The other great thing about drinking water is that you usually do it instead of drinking something that is bad for you (like coffee or sodas).  So it’s like a double bonus.

How to Get Your Body Ready for the Beach - Stairs

Add More to Your Daily Routine

During the week, make a conscious effort to take a longer walking route to your destination. Take the stairs instead of using the elevator. Push a cart through the grocery store even if you are only there to pick up one item. The goal is to add as much physical activity to your day to maximize your calorie burn. It might not seem like a lot, but you could burn as much as 500 extra calories per day! That is about 30 minutes worth of cardio at the gym! Not a bad trade for parking a few extra spaces over!

Following those five tips will ensure that you will start to trim and tone your body. In a couple of weeks you will not mind wearing that bathing suit to your dream beach holiday in Italy or Australia. Stop making excuses, and start taking action. You will be ready for the beach in no time.
